This is a duet for flute and marimba. The melody jumps from both parts but isn't overly difficult for either performer. Married Life is featured in the 2009 Disney/Pixar movie 'Up'. The tune plays over a montage of Carl, the main character, and his wife Ellie from when they first met, up until her death. As the montage shows the two of them getting married, a happy melody plays. After they find out that she can't conceive children, the melody turns more somber for a short time before returning to its once happy melody. As time passes, Ellie becomes ill due to old age, turning the happy melody back into a solemn and sad melody. The melody stays a sad, slow melody as it is revealed that Ellie died.
