The Oxford Dictionary defines petrichor as a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather. I really liked the thought of composing an entire piece based off of that definition. There are three loose movements in the piece: before the storm, during the storm, and after the storm. This is the only one out of the four pieces that isn't based off of something/entirely my own.
